Last-minute Loutraki

Athens and Loutraki are just eighty kilometres apart, with Loutraki being one of Greece’s best-known spa towns.

First stop: the municipal thermal baths, housed in the white semicircular building adorned with mosaics by St. Xenopoulos and his students.

Second stop: the modern hydrotherapy centre (Loutraki Thermal Spa) for a restorative dip in the thermal pool.

Third stop: Omega 3 for shrimp in garlic butter and sea bass carpaccio.

All that’s left is the casino!

The semicircular building of the municipal thermal baths was designed based on a study by L. Bonis. It stands on the rock from which chlorosodic-radon thermal water springs at a temperature of 30.5°C–32°C.

From Loutraki, Lake Vouliagmeni and the archaeological site of the Heraion are just a stone’s throw away.
