Flower festival in an Athenian suburb

Kifissia Flower Show 2026. A story that began 130 years ago.

In 1896, alongside the first modern Olympic Games, Athens also hosted its first unofficial flower exhibition.

Today, the flower show is an institution for the residents of Kifissia and Athenians alike.

The following photostory was captured over the May Day long weekend, with temperatures at 13°C. Despite the chill and the buzzkill (sic), flower enthusiasts put on their jackets and berets and flooded the Kifissia Park.
